Thanks for the flowers. I noticed your last name; Hopper. I recently found a Durward Hopper 1912-1976. A WWII veteran in my family tree. He is buried at Kings Mountain Cemetery S. Carolina. We went to visit to get all the dates of family tree. Do you fit too?

I am knitting a Lapghan in rather plain squares. I think that these crocheted flowers will be just what is needed to pretty it up.
I usually do fancy squares but I felt the need for some SIMPLE knitting. Now I know why!

Harryetta, It takes time to lay out the pattern and make it printable. Charging for small conveniences like this help me support my blog. You can copy and paste the post in a word document and print if you would like to print. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for letting the world see that a true shamrock has3 petals. St
Patrick used it to show that it represents the Holy Trinity. Father,Son and Holy Spirit but is one plant, one God.The 4leaved clover may be a sign of luck, but the 3 is what St Patrick's is standing for☘️

Hello, I am a little confused on row 2. The second set of stitches says slip stitch in the next chain 2 space, then the rest of that sentence. Is thatstep all in that same chain 2 space?

Can you give some details about how to stitch the rose together? I must mot be doing it correctly because it is spreading out rather than gathering in a cluster. I am using a tapestry needle and crochet cotton. By the time I have wound it up about half way it starts spreading out, rather than looking like a rose. Thank you

Is the HDC (it's called HDC, btw, for Half Double Crochet) in your pattern British or American? For the British hdc is the American sc.

    Please specify.

I think in row 2 that the 4 HD crochet and 5 HD crochet are still part of the
(sl st in ch 2 space, ch 1 4 HD crochet, ch 1, sl st) in a chain 2 space and then
(sl st 2 space, ch 1 5 HD crochet, ch 1, sl st) in the next ch 2 space. I think the other person who was confused about row 2 is that she tried what I first tried, which was 4 HD in one ch 2 space and 5 HD in the next ch 2 space. It did not look like the picture so I tried the way mentioned above. By the way, thanks so much for posting this. I've been trying to make flowers from other patterns and this is the first time I've been happy with the result.

    hey Cindy,
thanks for sharing the pattern. I love the vibrant colors, too.
I just get confused with the number of chains... Initially you say 51, later 41. The lower number might be the correct one... as my chain 2 spaces are many many more than yours on the picture. Would you mind double checking? I think another lady commented on this. Thanks!
    • Thursday, November 12th, 2015
Kerstin, the amount of chains determines the size of flower. Hope this helps.
