You will find this sugar cookie frosting has way more flavor than a cookie glaze with corn syrup. Some might call this sugar cookie icing. While this frosting will crust so you can stack the cookies it remains soft and delicious, unlike royal icing that gets hard. This sugar cookie frosting is more like a yummy buttercream frosting. Can these cookies be frozen after frosting them? If so, what is the best way to package them and how long can they be frozen?
Creme Bouquet where can I get it?
Yes, Olga the frosting will crust and you can stack.
I don’t typically have whole milk, so I use whatever I have. I alway think though that the higher fat content makes it richer. Don’t worry you are going to love this sugar cookie icing no matter what milk you use!
Hi Cindy…as for the milk in this recipe…whole milk, fat free…does it matter?
I had never heard of this Cream Bouquet…very excited to try this!!
Could you please tell me where to get the Creme Bouquet? I have never heard or ever seen this in any of the supermarkets I have been to.
What’s cream bouquet?
Hi Heidi, Thanks for sharing this creme bouquet recipe. I can’t wait to give it a try.
I want to try your frosting recipe but Christmas is only about a week away and I don’t have time to get creme bouquet via ordering! I found this recipe to make it homemade and am going to try it:
Homemade Crème Bouquet:
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. butter extract
1 Tbsp. lemon extract
Store in a small squeeze bottle.
Hi Martha, actually for piping like on the Christmas trees, I like it stiffer so it holds it shape.
Your cookies look sooooo good. For piping, do you thin with milk? Thank you!🎄
So we made a test batch for our company party… and this simple recipe is delicious.
What is bouquet and can I buy it at a grocery store? Also I am trying to find a good frosting instead of using a canned frosting, are there any other frosting recipe you recommend or is this the one you, prefer to use? Just wondering. Thanks!
Hello,
I love the things you post. What is a bouquet? Is this the frosting you would recommend using on sugar cookies? I am only asking to know if you use other homemade frosting or if you like this one the best. I am trying to find a good one and something other the the canned frosting. Thanks!

Leslee, I use what I have on hand. If I use un-salted butter it might need a pinch or two of salt. Typically, un-salted butter is fresher. Salt can oten be added to butter to help preserve it. Unsalted butter also lets you decide the amount of salt in a recipes.
