Who doesn’t stir fries? As a busy mom, they are something that I serve to my family at least once a week. Not only are they packed with flavor, but they also ensure that my family gets some healthy vegetables in their diets as well.

Today, we have an excellent vegan option for you – a tofu broccoli stir fry that’s sure to be a hit to whoever you serve it to. It’s simple but delicious, with each ingredient complimenting all the others perfectly, and it’s become one of my favorite dishes.

Tofu is packed with protein and can take on flavors easily, so some soy sauce, garlic, and ginger will liven it up for sure.

Equipment Needed

To make this yummy dish, you’ll need the following equipment and utensils:

  • Paper towels
  • Large nonstick skillet, pan, or wok.
  • Plates
  • Bowls
  • Cooking spoon

Broccoli and Tofu Stir Fry Ingredients

Here’s the list of ingredients you’ll need.

  • Tofu (you can use gluten-free tofu cubes if necessary)
  • Broccoli florets
  • White rice
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Vegetable broth
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Soy sauce
  • Honey
  • Rice vinegar
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Scallions/Green onion

How To Make a Broccoli and Tofu Stir Fry

This recipe couldn’t be easier, and you’ll create a stir fry masterpiece in under an hour. Here’s how you do it.

Step 1: Place a couple of sheets of paper towels on a plate, and then put two blocks of tofu on top. Cover the blocks of tofu with a paper towel and put a plate over them. Put in the microwave and cook the tofu according to the recommended instructions for microwaving on the packaging.

Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes when cooked.

Step 2: Put some vegetable oil into a pan, along with some sesame oil. Stir fry the tofu. To ensure a little texture, you are aiming for golden brown crispy tofu blocks for a little texture.

Step 3: In a separate pan, add the broccoli florets and some vegetable broth and cook on medium-high heat.

Step 4: Now add some garlic, ginger, and sesame oil and cook for a little longer before adding soy sauce, honey for a little sweetness, rice vinegar, and some cornstarch mixed in a little water. These ingredients make a brilliant, yet simple stir fry sauce! Start cooking your rice.

Step 5: Let the sauce reduce a little before adding the tofu cubes and toss through the broccoli.

Step 6: Plate up your rice and add a generous portion of the broccoli and tofu stir fry on top. Garnish with scallions and enjoy!

You can use several other ingredients instead of white rice including:

  • Brown rice
  • Noodles
  • Quinoa
