- Dough hook attachment
- Oven
- Rolling pin
- Pastry brush
- Muffin cups
Herb Roll Ingredients
These are the ingredients you will need to make these herb rolls:
- 1 packet of active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 200 ml warm water
- 2 cubes of butter
- 1 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 200 g cheddar cheese
- 100 g parmesan cheese
- 25g dried oregano
Instructions: How To Make Herb Rolls
Making these herb rolls won’t take up too much time, but you can always prepare them beforehand and store them appropriately.
Step 1: In a large bowl, place the dry yeast and sugar. Now add some lukewarm water and stir through until the sugar and yeast are thoroughly mixed. Set it aside and let it stand, allowing the yeast to activate fully.
Step 2: Once it has stood for a while, add butter, an egg, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture and blend thoroughly in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add more flour and, using a dough hook attachment, blend again till a dough forms.

Step 3: Brush some olive oil into a bowl and place the dough in it. Brush the top with olive oil, cover and set aside, allowing the dough to rise.

Step 4: Once risen, the dough can be rolled out into a flat rectangular shape, but it shouldn’t be too thick.

Step 5: Brush with melted butter and top with cheddar and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle some oregano over the dough.

Step 6: Roll up the dough as you would a Swiss roll. Do this slowly to ensure you don’t push the grated cheeses out.

Step 7: Slice the roll into disk shapes.

Step 8: Place a single disk into a muffin cup as shown in the image below.

Step 9: Bake until cooked through and golden brown.

Enjoy!

- Parsley
- Rosemary

Remember, dry herbs are far stronger than fresh herbs so don’t use too much or it might be too overpowering.
You could even sprinkle a little garlic powder, or better, still, brush the dough with melted garlic butter to really add a nice garlic kick.
