These butter bar cookies are one of my most favorite treats! I got the recipe from my sister-in-law, whose Aunt Hunner made them for her. I love recipes that are handed down from generation to generation. If Aunt Hunner were still living she would be over 100 years old! Do you have special family recipes? We also love my Grandmother’s English Toffee Recipe and her amazing sugar cookie recipe.

Is there a substitute for box of yellow cake mix. I’m not a fan of packet mix but love the sound of this recipe. Thanks.
These sound fabulous. Have you ever tried them with a gluten free cake mix? Would they still work? Thanks.
