Cherry Cherry Cake Ingredients

These are the wet and dry ingredients you will need to make this delicious cake. We start off with the white cake mix.  

  • 2 sticks of butter (you won’t need to melt butter, but it should be easy to mix)
  • 1 cup of sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 4 eggs
  • All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 tin of chopped maraschino cherries

Here are the ingredients for the cherry frosting, which is made in a separate bowl and into a pouring mixture.

  • Powdered sugar
  • Milk

How to Make Cherry Coffee Cake

Before we start, here are the various utensils you will need during the preparation process.

  • Whisk or medium speed stand mixer
  • Cake pan or tray

Let’s start baking! Remember to watch the video to help you along.

Step 1: Place the butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs in a bowl and stir or whisk, as shown in the image below.

To start, you need some basic ingredients.

Whisk till you have a creamy batter.

Step 2: Now add the all purpose flour and baking powder. Mix the flour mixture into a cake batter, as shown in the image below.

Fold in the flour to make a cake batter.

Step 3: Spray a cake pan or tray or oil them and spread the batter to form a base, but keep some aside for later to form extra cake layers. Now place the cherries over the batter, as shown in the image below.

Step 4: Place the extra batter mix between the cherries to form an extra cake layer, as shown in the image below. Now bake in the oven until the cake mixture is cooked through and golden brown.

Step 5: To prepare the topping, mix powdered sugar with a small amount of milk to make a pouring mixture which is then drizzled over the top of the cake. Slice and serve!

Ingredients  

  • 2 sticks Butter

  • 200 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Instructions 

  • Add butter, sugar, almond extract, vanilla extract and eggs to a bowl and mix until you have a creamy batter.
  • Fold in all purpose flour and baking powder to create a cake batter
  • Spread batter on oiled baking tray or in a cake tin to form a layer
  • Place cherries on top of the batter all over the tray
  • Add extra batter in the spaces between the cherries to form an extra cake layer
  • Bake in the oven until cake batter is cooked and golden brown
  • Take powdered sugar and a little milk and mix to create a drizzle for the cake
