Who is Santa?
Who is Santa Claus? The answer to that question might not be what you think. For many, Santa is a jolly man in a red suit who delivers presents to children on Christmas Eve. However, there are some legends and stories that tell of a different type of Santa.
One story tells of a bishop called Nicholas who lived in the 4th century. He was very generous and became known for giving gifts to people in need. When he died, people started calling him Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. It was much later that writers started to add the name Santa Claus and make him an elf with magical powers who lived at the North Pole with elves and reindeer and flew around delivering presents before Christmas every year.
