Instructions for the Thanksgiving scavenger hunt

This indoor scavenger hunt is for all ages. Older kids can help younger kids read the clues, if necessary. It is up to you if you want to leave an item, prize, or treat at each location with the next clue card. You know what will work best with your group.

Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt Ideas for Older Kids

You can create a Thanksgiving treasure hunt for older children who are allowed to go around the neighborhood. This will take a little bit of prep but can be a fun idea. The kids go to their neighbors who need light chores done, complete a task, and receive the next clue card. The end of the hunt would return them to your house to find the final prize of your choice. Kids can do chores like raking and bagging leaves, sweeping off a porch, carrying boxes of Christmas decorations into the house, or taking the dog for a walk.

One idea is to make a scavenger hunt about gathering the ingredients for a recipe. Leave the recipe and ingredients for pumpkin pie at each location, so at the end of the hunt, the players have all the things they need to help bake the Thanksgiving pumpkin pie!

Another idea is to leave the parts to a game that can be played once the scavenger hunt is completed.

Whether you’re aiming to keep kids of all ages engaged or looking for a fun activity that resonates with both older children and younger kids, a scavenger hunt is the perfect fit. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have a blast.
