Ghost drawing is one of the easiest Halloween drawings kids can make, and this cute cartoon ghost is a great place to start. Print the free ghost drawing practice sheet below to follow along and learn how to draw a ghost step by step.

How do you draw a ghost?
To draw a ghost, start with an upside down U shape. Add a wavy scalloped bottom, then draw two eyes and a mouth. Finish your ghost by adding curved lines from the bottom scallops to make it look like the ghost is floating.
Free Ghost Drawing Practice Sheet
This ghost drawing practice sheet makes the tutorial even easier to follow. Kids can look at each step, practice the simple lines, and then finish their own ghost drawing in the โYour Turnโ box.
The printable shows kids how to start with an upside down U, add the wavy outline, draw a face, add fold lines, and finish with simple shading. It also includes ghost face ideas, so kids can make their ghost happy, surprised, sleepy, silly, spooky, sad, or excited.

Ghost Step-by-Step Instructions
These simple drawing steps will show you how to draw a cartoon ghost from start to finish.
- Draw an upside-down U with curving lines at the bottom.

- Add about 7 scallops of different lengths along the bottom of the ghost. Bring the line back up to connect the sides.

- Draw the eyes and mouth. For this example, I used sunflower seed-shaped eyes and a banana-shaped mouth. You can try different shapes to make a scary ghost, silly ghost, mad ghost, or sweet ghost.

- Fill in the eyes and mouth with black. Then add a curved line coming up from the end of each scallop on the ghostโs body.

- Add tiny hatch lines along the fold lines to create simple shading. Make the hatch lines longer near the bottom and shorter as they move up the ghost.

Boo! You just drew a ghost.
