Set Up For Success For Playing Holiday Movie Trivia

This game is designed for teams or can be played individually.

NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES MAY BE USED TO SEARCH FOR ANSWERS

Players/teams need a blank piece of paper, something to write with, and space between their team and the next team so discussions can be private.

A Reader/ Scorekeeper is needed to read each question twice, keep time, and then tally the scores at the end of the game. (Choosing a Reader/Scorekeeper who will get into character is a must!)

Decide what prizes to offer to motivate your competitive teams!

Recomendations and Rules

  • Download and print the Christmas Movie Trivia questions. You can choose color or black and white.
  • Choose Reader/Scorekeeper: they will read each question twice, allow 3 minutes per question and score answer sheets.
  • Allow time for teams to choose a Team Name and write it on their answer sheet.
  • Reader will announce each team, welcome them to the Christmas Trivia Game and explain the rules before getting started!
    1. NO ELECTRONICS WILL BE ALLOWED
    2. Each question will be read twice
    3. Three minutes between questions before moving on
    4. 1 point for each correct answer for easy scoring
    5. Collaborate within your own team
    6. Spelling does not count, but Reader must be able to decipher the answer.
    7. Intermission between Round 4 and Round 5. Teams hand in their answer sheets.  Reader reads correct answers to questions so far. Reader tallys scores and reports to players at the beginning of Round 5.
    8. After Round 8, teams hand in answer sheets and Reader reads correct answers to remaining questions, tallys and announces final scores.
    9. Team with the highest score at the end of Round 8 wins!

Questions

Q: Can you have a Reader, a Scorekeeper, and a person in charge of playing music and keeping time?

A: Absolutely! If you have guests who don’t want to play but want to be where the fun is, sign them up to keep score and keep the time between questions!

Q: Can you increase or decrease the amount of time between questions?

A: Sure!  3 minutes is a suggestion to keep the game moving along. If your teams need more time, increase it to 5 minutes or challenge them by giving 1 minute!

Q: What happens if someone is using electronics to search for answers?

A: Hmmm, you will have to decide that one.  Good Luck!

Q: What happens in the case of a tie?

Have the teams turn over to the back of their answer sheet and list, in order, the gifts of 12 Days of Christmas in 3 minutes without using electronics.  The team who can name the most in the correct order wins!  The scorekeeper is allowed to use the internet to confirm the lists!
