    Posted by  ·  July 13, 2017

Oh my! Elmer’s has to be having an amazing year!  Almost two gallons of glue and what feels like millions of recipes later we are still making slime at our house.  We decided we needed to try butter slime. We made it two ways and in our books one was the clear winner.

    3 Ingredient Butter Slime

Only three ingredients to make a super stretchy butter slime that will hold it's shape.

    Total Time 5 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 2 Tablespoons white school glue
    • 2 Tablespoons liquid starch
    • 1 package Model Magic modeling clay

    Instructions

    1. Mix the starch and glue together.  This works great in a baggie. It takes some mixing. Once it comes together remove mixture from the baggie and discard any extra liquid.  Continue mixing until smooth and stretchy. Break off a piece of the Model Magic about the same size as the slime that was just made.  Mix the Model Magic into the slime.

    Recipe Notes

Keep slime in an air tight baggie.  This butter slime was great days after making.

We then tried Bella’s favorite slime recipe and added model magic. While this one was great at first, as Bella played with it, it became not as stretchy…. and well we love it stretchy.

The following recipe takes a few more ingredients. If you are 12 years old that doesn’t stop you! The more ingredients the better.

This recipe only lasted a day. It became to stiff for Bella’s liking.

Watch Bella and her friend make butter slime without the clay.  Instead they used cornstarch.  It never really held it’s shape but the girls do share loads of tips and insightful information……. like don’t get it on your carpet. lol. That is a sure way to get slime production shut down at your house.

We have made so many DIY slimes! I can’t disagree with the kids, it is super fun to play with.  In fact, quite addictive.  Are your kids making it or has it been outlawed at your house?
