DIY Elastic Hair Ties Supplies
- 5/8″ Fold Over Elastic (affiliate link)
- Measuring Tape
- Scissors
These types of small elastic ties are perfect because they are super gentle on the hair. They work great on thin and thick hair.
One yard package of 5/8″ or 3/4″ fold over elastic will make four ties. Fold the elastic in half and half again.
How to Make Elastic Hair Ties

- Cut the elastic into a 9-inch piece. Cut ends at an angle.
2. Place the ends of the elastic together and tie a knot close to the ends. That’s it couldn’t be any simpler.
