Years ago since Trader Joe’s came to town, They introduced the idea about using recycled bags for shopping. Great incentive for me (and my kids) to be mindful of our precious environment!
Now that Best Yet market gives customers back five cents for using recycled bags also.
Warehouse clubs like Bj’s don’t provide bags, but sometimes cardboard boxes.
Our bags have been getting nasty despite being washed, so With Earth Day approaching, and the change of seasons I’ve decided on a spring project to turn couple an old sweatshirt, a sweater that outgrown my wardrobe and couple t-shirts into grocery bags.
Never occurred to me to use a pillow case!

I haven’t tried this one personally, but I have the fabric! Market Bag This one resembles the ones you get from the store in that they are boxy and stand up when you load groceries in them.

I just finished posting my own today. Mine were Christmas presents for my girls because they like to use them to haul their snow gear to school. These bags are wonderful, aren’t they? Lots of great uses!
