- Pour peaches over batter (do not stir).
- Bake at 375° for about 40 to 50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly and that’s it! It really is an easy peach cobbler recipe.
Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (my preference) or a dollop of whipped cream like my neighbor does.
You’ll find the best and sweetest peaches if you pick them in season. If you live down south, like Georgia or Texas, the peaches start to ripen mid-May and usually go through August. As you head up-state towards Pennsylvania, the perfect peach can be found July through September. Wherever you live, peach season is definitely the best time to learn how to make peach cobbler! After all, peach cobbler with canned peaches just isn’t quite the same. But you can use canned peaches in this recipe.
How to Use Canned Peaches
Two 15 ounce cans of sliced peaches in syrup can be substituted for the fresh peaches. I mostly drain the juice.
How to Serve and Store
This southern peach cobbler recipe is best served warm, right after it’s baked. However this delicious dish doesn’t have to be served straight from the oven and can be easily transported to a dinner party, a picnic, or a potluck, just make sure that you bring the recipe to share–because I promise that you will be asked!
If there happen to be leftovers they can be stored covered, in the fridge for 4-5 days.
To reheat in the oven, allow it to come almost to room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes or until heated through. Cover with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.
