Print off the tags. They are in black and white so they may be printed on a wide variety of colored card-stock.  Cut out the tags and punch a hole in the top of the tag and attach the tags to the mug handle or the plastic bag. Each mug will get two tags. One that says, “You take the cake!” and one with the chocolate mug cake instructions. If you like they could also be printed front and back to make one tag.

I must admit this has become my secret weapon for chocolate cravings. Warm gooey chocolate cake in less than five minutes start to finish! Yum. I personally like it a bit underdone so it tastes more like a lava cake. If you want to cut back on fat and calories 1 Tablespoon of oil works great! Not worried about calories top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream! That is sure to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

This gooey chocolate mug cake is egg free and can also be made gluten and dairy free! I like the cake slightly undercooked so it is like a molten chocolate mug cake. It is just like a lava cake. YUM!

  1. When do you add the mini-chocolate chips? On top or right in the mixture?
    Thank you!

  2. Hello Marjolein, if you look I include both options for tags. The cake is richer with two but still tastes as good with 1 Tablespoon oil for those that want to decrease the fat and calories. Let me know if you have more questions.

  3. Hai, Just checking, in the recipe it says 2 tbsp of oil, in the tag it only says 1 tbsp. Is it 2 of 1 tbsp?

  4. Hi Cindy…love your website and all your ideas.

Can we make this in the instant pot ?
