How to Fold a Cat Hand Puppet

Follow these simple instructions to fold a hand Puppet in next to no time! If you are struggling to follow the instructions, be sure to watch the video which shows everything clearly.

Step 1: Start with a black piece of rectangle paper and then fold it upwards, but leave a little section of the top of the paper sticking out from the fold as shown in the second image below.

Fold the bottom upwards, but not all the way to the top, leave about an inch free.

Step 2: Glue the top strip and fold it over to secure it.

Fold it downwards and stick it to the bottom section of the paper.

Step 3: Now fold the paper over from right to left to form a smaller rectangular shape. Take the top section on the left-hand side, and fold it in half back towards the right-hand side. Flip the paper over 180 degrees and do the same with the other side to form a smaller rectangle. Open the paper up and you will have two sections where your hand can fit in.

Put your hands into the two open pockets, this is how you can control the black cat’s mouth.

Step 4: Take a rectangular piece of pink paper and, using scissors, cut it into the shape of the cat’s tongue. Glue this on the inside flap opposite the area where your hands go in to control the cat’s mouth as shown in the images below.

Attach the tongue with glue.

Make sure you glue it in the right place which is on the inside of the black paper.

Step 5: Cut a smaller circle from the pink paper for the cat’s nose. Cut longer strips of white paper for its whiskers. Glue the whiskers to the nose. Attach the nose on the outside section of the black paper, opposite from where the pockets are for your hands.

Glue down the cat’s nose securely.

Step 6: Cut two round circles from white paper for the cat’s eyes and glue them down. Now cut two smaller circles from black paper and glue them inside the white circles for the cat’s eyes.

Now add the inner section of the cat’s eyes and secure with glue.

Step 7: Now cut out the cat’s ears, first the black outer part and then the pink inner part. Glue the pink inner ear shapes onto the larger black ear shapes.

Step 8: Fold a small lower section of the ears over, apply some glue, and secure them to the cat’s face near the top. Finally, use a white marker or crayon to add some details to the cat’s eyes.
