Our Brother Ptouch label maker winner is Elizabeth.

Thanks for the over 400 comments!  It was so fun reading through them!

On Saturday a friend came over and helped me with my craft room.  She was amazing.  It became quite apparent that I could have never done this without her.  I urge you all to get past the embarrassment and ask for help. I used to think I was just lazy, and while there is some truth to that, I quickly realized I am lacking some organizational skills.  It might seem like an easy task to group “like” things together, or group things where they are used.  For me when I see an item it has many uses  and many possibilities so it truly helped to have someone walk me through the process!

It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better!

First, my sweet friend made me take everything out of the room. OH MY!

Thank goodness she was here.  After about 30 minutes of looking at this stuff I was totally overwhelmed and ready to stop. My son said, “Mom you would have stopped and all that mess would have stayed there for 8 weeks!”—–out of the mouths of babes.

My friend continued to give me words of encouragement the ENTIRE LONG day.  She might have been dying on the inside but never let me see even one single “eye roll” over the amount of ribbon and hole punches —-that is a true friend! I am thankful beyond words for her help!

I am not quite ready to post an update photo.  I will save that for the first of February like I promised.

One thing that helped was to have plenty of small containers to sort items. It was also important to me that it looked pretty. So to help one of you get organized in a fun and pretty way, the Container Store, is generously giving one lucky reader a $25.00 gift card.  Leave a little comment here before Sunday at midnight for a chance to win!

  1. Organizing is hard for me too. I have had friends help me too and it really seems to help! Keep up the good work!

  2. We have a new Container Store open where I live. I would love to use it to buy office storage boxes for important papers and an acrylic index card file for recipes and recipe card dividers. Thank you.

  3. My craft area looks much like your Before shot, but I’m really short on containers to turn it into an After.

  4. I could always use more containers for organizing! Thanks for the opportunity!

  5. At least you got in there and started to tackle it. My office/scrapbook/craft/storage room is a wreck. I know it needs to be done and I want it done – I just don’t know where to start. It’s so overwhelming and not fun! Maybe I’ll invite a friend over to get me motivated and inspired and see what their vision might be, so I can have a happy, clutter free place to work and be creative. Thanks for the motivation.

  6. With a new baby on the way we definitely need some more places to put things. I love the container store.

  7. Ok – so where is your finished project? I’m curious how your “new” room looks. I’d love a g/c, so please pick me Ü
