Our Brother Ptouch label maker winner is Elizabeth.

Thanks for the over 400 comments!  It was so fun reading through them!

On Saturday a friend came over and helped me with my craft room.  She was amazing.  It became quite apparent that I could have never done this without her.  I urge you all to get past the embarrassment and ask for help. I used to think I was just lazy, and while there is some truth to that, I quickly realized I am lacking some organizational skills.  It might seem like an easy task to group “like” things together, or group things where they are used.  For me when I see an item it has many uses  and many possibilities so it truly helped to have someone walk me through the process!

It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better!

First, my sweet friend made me take everything out of the room. OH MY!

Thank goodness she was here.  After about 30 minutes of looking at this stuff I was totally overwhelmed and ready to stop. My son said, “Mom you would have stopped and all that mess would have stayed there for 8 weeks!”—–out of the mouths of babes.

My friend continued to give me words of encouragement the ENTIRE LONG day.  She might have been dying on the inside but never let me see even one single “eye roll” over the amount of ribbon and hole punches —-that is a true friend! I am thankful beyond words for her help!

I am not quite ready to post an update photo.  I will save that for the first of February like I promised.

One thing that helped was to have plenty of small containers to sort items. It was also important to me that it looked pretty. So to help one of you get organized in a fun and pretty way, the Container Store, is generously giving one lucky reader a $25.00 gift card.  Leave a little comment here before Sunday at midnight for a chance to win!

  1. I love the Container Store! My hubby never understands how I can spend hours there. A gift card would be great!

  2. I am currently in the process of updating and organizing our office/craft room/soon to be homeschool room! But I got overwhelmed quite a while ago, so being ‘in process’ is a very loose term! This organization project has taken MONTHS! If I don’t win the gift card (and I sure hope I do!), can you send your friend over for a LONG day at my house?!? 🙂

  3. One can never have too many containers. Reading this posting on your blog has reminded me that I need to organize my bits and pieces too. My fabric is organized but all the embellishments I use and all the crafty sidelines I have ‘stuff’ for, are skitter-skattered all over the studio!

I’ve heard good things about the Container Store. Now if I am the lucky winner, perhaps I can organize most of the odds and ends so I quit buying duplicates! lol

  4. I love the container store. And, my room is still a mess so I could use all the help I can get.

  5. The Container Store is one of the best invented concepts!! I find that I work like a rock star if someone is there with me….they can sit in a chair and give suggestions or dig in and help, but I think it is having another person to chat with that helps!! Looking forward to the reveal!

  6. I moved my studio to the kids toyroom that they out grew. It took me 2 weeks to sort and purge. I am still not there yet and many times felt totally overwhelmed. Hang in there. Kara

  7. I LOVE organizing and I love the items at the container store. I just wish we had one close to us (although our budget does not!).
