Today I’m sharing my Sweet Christmas Bottles

This Christmas season is all about early mornings and late nights for me. I’ve got so much to do and so little time, its difficult for me to stay on track! One of my favorite go to treats happens to be bottled mocha. I’m not a coffee drinker, mind you, but I do like coffee mixed with obscene amounts of chocolate. Plus, they come in the most adorable bottles!

I’m a stickler for re-using things, and especially for using glass. In fact, I’ve got a whole Pin Board dedicated to just these coffee bottles and what to do with them. Check it out!

This Christmas, they are getting a new lease on life. I’ve made some adorable candy treats that stay fresh in the sealed bottles. They are just the thing for teachers, co-workers, neighbors- anyone! I’ve made up a set of three different labels for the bottles. One meant for M&M’s, one for Hard Candy and one for Nuts.  This craft is super easy and there’s a bonus- you get to drink the coffee first. ;D

You Will Need:

  • Starbucks or Beaumont Coffee Bottles. (Mason jars might work too)
  • Paint for the lids
  • Paintbrush
  • Sandpaper
  • Scissors
  • M&M candies, Nuts and Hard Candy.
  • Stick glue
  • Printer and Paper
  • Free Label Printable

How to Make it:

  1. Remove the labels from the used jars. (The Beaumont Coffee brand from Aldi is shrink-wrapped on, and comes off very easily.) I’ve heard people have some great success with the Starbucks kind as well.
  2. Wash bottles in dishwasher on the bottom rack with lids in the utensil tray. (I have a stash of maybe 40 bottles. I just wash them as I’m finished with them)
  3. Use a semi-fine grit sandpaper to scuff up the metal lids. Clean the dust off, and paint with your desired paint color. (This may take several coats. If you can buy a spray paint for metal in your desired color, you may use that instead.)
  4. Once completely dry, fill the bottles with your treats. I used peanut butter M&Ms because I like them. I  had the hard candy Gems left over from my ADORABLE Candy Christmas Tree.
  5. Print the labels on regular paper. Cut out the labels and the lid decals.
  6. Using a stick glue on the back of the label, adhere to bottle.
  7. Once lid paint is dry, apply stick glue to back of lid decal and adhere.
  8. That’s it! Leave them on some doorsteps, or tuck a couple in your purse for an emergency gift. Use them as a sweet way to give grandpa the cashews you give him every year! Check out the finished product below, pictured with my Woodland Christmas Countdown blocks all made of paper!)
