Contest  closed! Winner was Kim C! Congrats Kim!

We recently moved our laundry room into what used to be a very tiny bathroom. My husband installed a large pocket door to maximize the small space. The room needed a quick re-do to make the space work. A trip to Lowe’s quickly turned this small space laundry room into a useful and organized work space!

Small Space Laundry Room Ideas

To give our laundry room a fresh look we first installed a laminate counter on top of the washer and dryer to make a nice work surface. We used a counter top with a back splash to keep socks and small clothing items from falling behind the washer.

Lowe’s had plenty of closet storage ideas that we could borrow for our laundry room. We installed Rubbermaid Shelving to make the best use of the space . For years we have sorted our clothes into dish tubs. Now the tubs have the perfect home. Our clothes from the laundry shoot fall right into a large laundry basket sitting on the counter. Wet clothes can be hung over the large wash sink.

Everything now has a home and our laundry room looks organized, clean and fresh!

  1. I have a laundry room that is begging for a face lift. I have a picture that I fell in love with and can’t wait to get started. It is amazing what some paint, colorful baskets and some awesome hardware can do for a room. This will be my summer project and I just need to get started.

  2. What room in this house doesn’t need a makeover!? It’s hard to pick. I would have to go with my son’s room. It has bright red carpeting from the 70’s, that is impossible to vacuum. The ceiling is too far down, and not built well. The walls are fake wood paneling, and un-sticking from the walls. There is no closet, and no door! It really is an eye sore.

  3. The master bath needs a total rehaul!!! Or even the kitchen…definately looking towards getting some tile backsplash…those oil splatters are making me NUTS!

  4. I would love to update my half bath to give a little more personality

  5. Your laundry room looks great! I have a laundry room also that needs a make-over; the 4 walls are all different materials since the previous owners added this room on to the end of the house (so the walls are a combination of siding, beadboard and paneling). Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. My laundry room! needs some color and organizing tools. some baskets and an inspiring paint color would be great!

  7. We have a tiny bathroom, it’s the only one in the house and it’s the only room we haven’t touched. It’s in desperate need of some updating, and new fixtures, and new everything. This would help! Thanks!

  8. My Craft room is in desperate need or organizing. It takes me longer to find everything I need to do a project than to actually do the project.
