Instant Pot Hard Boiled eggs 5 5 5 Method

This hard boiled eggs recipe is the easiest way to cook up a batch of eggs.

Pour one cup of water to the inner pot, then place the trivet inside. This will elevate the eggs and prevent them from sitting directly on the bottom of the pot. I like to use this stackable rack, it’s easy to lift out and prevents the eggs from cracking when stacked on top of each other on the trivet.

Carefully place the desired number of eggs on the trivet or rack inside the Instant Pot. You can boil as few or as many eggs as you like. I always do a dozen.

Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and ensure that the steam release valve is set to the sealing position. Select the manual button and adjust the cooking time to 5 minutes at high pressure.

Once the cooking time is complete, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for 5 minutes. This will gently finish cooking the eggs and prevent them from becoming overcooked.

After the 5 minutes carefully perform a quick pressure release by turning the steam release valve to the venting position. Once the pressure has fully released and the float valve has dropped, carefully open the lid. Use a pair of tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool rapidly.

After the eggs have cooled for 5 minutes in the ice bath, they are ready to be peeled and enjoyed! Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel.
