TIP:

First, I want to show you my favorite trick for making these treats. I cut two pieces of parchment paper and lay them across each other. Then when the treats are cool, I lift them out and use a serrated knife to cut them into bars. Note: The stick of butter is just holding the papers in place until my treats are ready to go in. A butter paperweight, if you will.

Slicing them makes for a pretty presentation, and you can wrap them up individually if you prefer.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • Butter
  • 1 bag of large marshmallows – 10 ounces
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Peanut Butter Captain Crunch

How to Make:

Melt butter in a large pot, once butter is almost completely melted, add marshmallows. Stir over low heat until marshmallows are almost melted, then add peanut butter. Stir until combined.

Pour cereal into marshmallow mixture and stir until well combined.  Pour cereal mixture into 8×8 pan, lined with parchment paper. Use hands slightly dampened with water to press cereal into the pan. This will keep it from sticking to your hands.

Let cool, cut with a serrated knife, and serve.

For an even more decadent treat, try drizzling the top with melted chocolate or white chocolate chips. Heavenly!

  1. I’ve made these before without the peanut butter. Love this addition! A chocolate frosting or drizzle is a must – otherwise, it’s actually (can’t believe I’m saying this) too much peanut butter.

  2. This is my kids very favorite treat. Captain crunch is so good and this is the perfect way to visit.

  3. These were so good! My kids inhaled them in now time so I’m definitely making another batch today. Thinking about sprinkling in some chocolate chips too.

  4. I made these per the instructions, except I fit the recipe into a 9×13 instead of 8×8. 7 cups of cereal was perfect. I don’t know how you’d fit the batch into an 8×8, maybe really smoosh it down? Tastes awesome!

  5. I tried making these, and 7 cups of the cereal was too much – it spilled out of the pan when I was stirring it and some of it didn’t stick to the butter and stuff.
