It is a new year and I am trying to make Skip to my Lou the very best it can be. My hope is that little site brings value to your life. I would like to make sure I am on track, so I am asking if you might be willing to fill out a survey for me — I hope you will! It is all anonymous !
Thank you so much for taking your time to fill out this survey! I appreciate it!

If you can earn a living doing your blog I will give you what ever info you need. What a creative way to support your family! Good Luck!
I do sew but you didn’t list that option – why, if you screw up, do you have to redo the entire survey – frustrating! Thanks tho.
Love your blog and so grateful that you produce it!
I completed your survey. But I do not know where it went. Sorry.
I completed your survey.
I filled out the survey…I had no problem with the “personal” questions. 🙂 Your blog is one of my favorites. I think it’s great you can supplement your family’s income with it — way to go!
I don’t mind filling out the personal questions. Perhaps change the question to “Thrifty because I must be” “Thrifty because it’s fun” “I don’t mind splurging” or “I try to use the best quality tools/materials” or something like that – it doesn’t help you on advertising demo, but people might be happier about it 🙂 Also, if you don’t feel comfortable with listing your town, just list your metro area. That’s what I do. No one has ever heard of my town and it saves me from the “we’re halfway between….” thing.
I really enjoy reading the blogs and looking at the sponsoring blogs. If you do your shopping on the internet, like I do because of the small town I live in, it is really helpful. Keep advertising and I would love to have some of the items you use, like the cake pans, etc.
Our family’s income is over 78k, but I’d never consider spending even $100 on a crafting machine. Even crochet hooks, knitting needles, etc., I try to borrow or buy cheaply. I am thrifty and that is why I use the internet to find inexpensive gifts my 3 children and I can make. I know I’ll find lots of inspiration at your blog!
I do enjoy and appreciate your blog so much. I would be happy to fill out a survey that doesn’t include income and the city where I live. I don’t mind indicating the state that I live in, but I live in a fairly small city, and don’t want to indicate that. I mainly enjoy the sewing ideas you have.
Done! 🙂
So sorry if some of the questions were too personal. I did this survey because:
1. I really like to know generally what is the make up of my readers.
The income questions help me understand where my readers are at. I am a thrifty type person because I have to be. I often feel horrible about making things with expensive products –for instance a personal cutting system that is $300, which is a huge amount of money. However, if everyone else’s income is over $50K then it gives me a sense of peace about sometimes using pricier supplies (I know kinda silly). I know at the end of the day income doesn’t matter. We all should be recycling, re-using and making do —- it is what is good for our envorinment.
2. At this point the only way I can justify the amount of time it takes to keep this blog going is to sell advertising and generate income—otherwise I need to find a job to help contribute to my family. The money generated from my blog (even though little) has been a tremendous blessing. I often have potential advertisers asking me about the demographics of my blog —- and I have no clue and often lose out on sponsorship.
The age question is also related to #2 but also for me — personally I have been surprised at the amount of comments left by grandparents. It has made me want to think about ideas that would be good for all different ages.
The location question is huge for me. It is really good for me to know that people are experiencing different seasons and celebrations than myself. I often get tunnel vision and think everyone is interested in celebrating Kansas Day. Knowing where my readers are from keeps my mind open and thinking about what others are doing and celebrating.
I have absolutely no way of knowing who fills out this form. The answers will be grouped together by me to help provide me a general focus and vision for my blog based on the desires of my readers!
I hope this helps explain the questions!
I filled out your questionaire until the question asking about income. Even though it is anonymous, I have aprehensions about answering personal questions about income, and location. Since they were required questions, I could go no further.
I do enjoy your blog, though, and am a regular reader. I keep up via RSS feed. You have some really cute ideas! Keep up the good work.
I completed the survey and submitted, but couldn’t tell if it actually went, so I apologize if it got sent twice. If for some reason you didn’t get it, please e-mail me and I will retake it! Great idea for input!

Can’t wait for 2010!
