Thanks for the over 400 comments! It was so fun reading through them!
On Saturday a friend came over and helped me with my craft room. She was amazing. It became quite apparent that I could have never done this without her. I urge you all to get past the embarrassment and ask for help. I used to think I was just lazy, and while there is some truth to that, I quickly realized I am lacking some organizational skills. It might seem like an easy task to group “like” things together, or group things where they are used. For me when I see an item it has many uses and many possibilities so it truly helped to have someone walk me through the process!
It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better!
First, my sweet friend made me take everything out of the room. OH MY!

Thank goodness she was here. After about 30 minutes of looking at this stuff I was totally overwhelmed and ready to stop. My son said, “Mom you would have stopped and all that mess would have stayed there for 8 weeks!”—–out of the mouths of babes.
My friend continued to give me words of encouragement the ENTIRE LONG day. She might have been dying on the inside but never let me see even one single “eye roll” over the amount of ribbon and hole punches —-that is a true friend! I am thankful beyond words for her help!
I am not quite ready to post an update photo. I will save that for the first of February like I promised.

I love the Container Store. I can’t wait to see the finished room…might be the motivation I need to get my craft room done.
I really need more containers for my fabric!
I looovveee the container store. It makes me happy!
I need a helping hand to organize too….or a least a shove to get me going. 🙂
The container store!! Hurray! I think anyone would be entirely grateful for a GC there. Thank you for the opportunity.
I love the container store! I need an organizing-savvy friend to help me too 🙂
You can never go wrong at The Container Store. Sorting won’t seem like such a chore if I’m filling nicer containers!
I love getting organized! Can’t wait to see the new pictures!
You have inspired me to tackle my craft mess- And from the looks of your “durring” photos my husband is not going to be hapy!!
my friends are too scared to help me organize.
The Container Store is the best store. Can’t wait to see the new room!
I can’t wait to see the final result! And I’m also one of those people who would take the first step and then leave the mess for months to come (which totally explains the state of our basement, and our “spare” bedroom which has been renamed a storage room…)
I have been thinking about redoing my crafting spaces and this would be perfect!
I am envious of your freshly organized craft space. Enjoy it!

How timely for this contest as I just tried to work on my craft room this weekend. It ended up in lots of tears and yelling. You can’t even open the door to the room it is so bad and my husband was just trying to help but I was just so overwhelmed. I could use some organization FOR SURE!
I sure could use some more containers. I am always telling the kids just to combine things, but I don’t think that is helping us:)
