A year ago, my family and I started talking about how hard it was to find good quality gifts for kids, which quickly turned into a conversation about each of our favorite toys and memories from childhood. After a while we realized that our fondest memories, whether from growing up in the 60s or twenty years later in the 80s, were of time spent exploring and imagining. That’s why we started imaginechildhood.com, a website that offers high quality durable toys, tools, and activities that encourage outdoor exploration, creativity, and imagination.

  1. my favourite for sure is the natural wood tree house. it can be a home for legomen or fairys.

  2. I love the natural wood treehouse…soo cool. I also like the rock crayons they look great. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. We love the butterfly wagon and the family treehouse book. I adore the site and will frequent it often. Thank you.

  4. The double sided easel would be nice to start with…what a great site. I bookmarked you for many future references for my soon to be two grandchildren gifts.

  5. My favorite item: European Kite Paper because it brings back childhood memories.

We lived in the projects that were near a big empty field (we’re talking about a city block long and wide–undeveloped land I guess–but it was maintained/green–closest thing we had to a park).

So my dad would take us over there (5 kids) and make kites from newspaper, strings, sticks, just stuff we had around the house. They’d fly just fine… and I remember kids from the neighborhood would come over to check it out. And my dad would just make another kite– He was so patient and didn’t mind. Next thing you knew, there’d be 20 homemade kites in the air and bunch of happy kids, running into each other trying to get their kids to fly.

What a great time. Not to mention, a great contribution to the community–some of those kids may have never seen or had a kite before and here’s an adult taking time to share with them…. but I digress.

I hope I win so I can buy that kite paper!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I loved everything!! I especially have a fondness for the kits. But the geologist in me says that the rocks and minerals are the best!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Wow, I have to pick just one favorite? I love everything in your store. I guess if I have to choose just one it would be the art table. It is the perfect setup with the paper so handy and a spot for all of the art supplies too.

  8. i like the hydogen powered car kit! thank for hosting this giveaway ๐Ÿ™‚ chantellesabino at mac dot com

  9. Love the art table- but it’s so hard to pick! What a great site. My husband and I were just talking the other day about how it’s hard to find good toys, they don’t just light up or make noise. It’s nice for the kids to be able to use their imagination and creativity. Count me in! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I liked all the building block sets. The lincoln house took me back to my childhood and my children and grandchildren all enjoyed the pieces that are still good.

  11. oh oh…the pocket scopes….cute, my kiddies would love those the most, for our bush walks!
