…so we are celebrating with custom pillowcases and made beds (well some of us are — remember I also have teen boys)!

To make our custom pillowcase we used Crayola Fabric Markers (I found them at Michael’s Arts & Crafts and used a coupon) and a plain white pillowcase.

These markers are great! Bella literally spent hours working on her pillowcase.ย She is really into hearts as you can see!ย She asked me to draw a heart shape. The pillowcase was thin enough that I slipped a paper with a heart drawn on it in the middle and she could see it well enough to trace.ย It would be fun to use coloring book pictures as templates also.ย A child could easily decorate anyway they like, but if they seem intimidated have them make a drawing first on paper and then they can trace it.
** Makeย sure you place a piece of cardboard inside the pillowcase to keep the markers from bleeding through to the other side. Read package directions for setting the fabric.**

Really the possibilities are endless for this craft—- slumber party or birthday crafts, gifts, etc.. They could even be further embellished with bits of fabric, trims and embroidery.
Bella loves her new pillowcase!

What a great idea for my 3 yr old that LOVES to color! I’ll try this with a pillowcase and a coloring book page of Disney princesses! THANKS!
I love the idea! don’t worry about allergies – I bet they have tested them! They would be tons of fun! I think they would be great in a classroom!
We actually found Crayola pillow case and fabric crayon sets at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and colored them monday night. My oldest daughter picked out the butterfly pillowcase and my youngest picked out dinosaur. It suits their personalities perfect. We had so much fun coloring them as a family and then we traced around their hands on the back and put the date so they will be great keepsakes!
How have I missed these markers? My girls are 6 and 4 and would LOVE this project! I especially like the idea of holiday/seasonal pillow cases. What a fun rainy-day craft idea.
To address the issue of skin sensitivity, you could leave one side unadorned and have the child flip the pillow to the plain side for sleeping.
Oh, yes! We would love to try some. We love crayola and we love fabric. How fun to combine them!
I can think of so many ways to use these markers , and a lot of colors to play with also.
I didn’t know there was a National Make Your Bed Day! I am always doing crafts and projects with my grandchildren. When they were younger I got seasonal fabric and made them pillow cases – Valentines, Fall, Christmas, Easter, Etc. They loved it.
This would be something I would really like to do with them and I know they would enjoy. They are so proud of there little paper and coloring projects, they would be blown away with a pillow case THEY made and could use! Thanks for sponsoring the give-a-way!
We would love to try out these awesome fabric markers! I have three boys who’d LOVE to design their own pillowcase!!

I have never seen the Crayola Fabric Markers either. I will have to look next time I go to Michael’s. What a wonderfully less messy alternative to painting t-shirts too.
If today is National Make Your Bed Day, is tomorrow National Lie In It Day? If so, I’ll be glad to participate.
What a fun idea! I have never seen these markers before. I have two kids that would love this project!
What a fun idea! I might have to try those out this weekend.
What a fantastic idea! I am always looking for something the grandkids enjoy doing and this looks like so much fun. Slumber party at grandma’s house and their own little decorated pillowcases to take home. This grandma is just a kid at heart so I can’t wait to try it.
