…so we are celebrating with custom pillowcases and made beds (well some of us are — remember I also have teen boys)!

To make our custom pillowcase we used Crayola Fabric Markers (I found them at Michael’s Arts & Crafts and used a coupon) and a plain white pillowcase.

These markers are great! Bella literally spent hours working on her pillowcase.ย She is really into hearts as you can see!ย She asked me to draw a heart shape. The pillowcase was thin enough that I slipped a paper with a heart drawn on it in the middle and she could see it well enough to trace.ย It would be fun to use coloring book pictures as templates also.ย A child could easily decorate anyway they like, but if they seem intimidated have them make a drawing first on paper and then they can trace it.
** Makeย sure you place a piece of cardboard inside the pillowcase to keep the markers from bleeding through to the other side. Read package directions for setting the fabric.**

Really the possibilities are endless for this craft—- slumber party or birthday crafts, gifts, etc.. They could even be further embellished with bits of fabric, trims and embroidery.
Bella loves her new pillowcase!

A great idea! My kids might not protest bedtime so much if they had decorated their own pillowcases. Maaaaybe.
What a fantastic idea!!! I am always looking for fun ways to celebrate silly holidays like this one.
I am going to highlight this entry on my blog…
Easy fun kid friendly craft. Need those right now!!!!
Wow, those are so cool. My kids would be all over them, especially my 6yo, who wants to be a fashion designer ๐
What an awesome give away! Oh the fun that could be had…
If Crayola makes it…that’s good enough for me!! I am the Crayola Queen!!!
These pillowcases are adorable. Such a great gift idea. Wouldn’t it be cute to use them to track your child’s milestones? First Day of School, First Loose Tooth, etc.? I can’t wait to get started!!!
Thanks for sharing.
Nifty! I don’t care one whit about making beds (they’re just gonna get messy again, anyway, lol!) but I dig the idea of custom made pillowcases. Sign me up for a box, please.

Finally!!!! i love crayola and I love to make things with my children, perfect perfect perfect…. No more worries of bleeding colors or colored fingers. Super excited
These would be really cool to have. Maybe it would encourage my daughter to make her bed.
I would love to win these!!!
My kids would love this…I see mother’s day and father’s day gifts for grandparents in the future.
We’d love to try these at our house. My daughter would absolutely love them.
I’d love to try the fabric markers, thanks!
I am so going to buy these to make Christmas presents for the grandparents. Not sure what I can sew them into, but I’ll figure that out later…and maybe one for mommy too!
My kids would LOVE those markers…or would I love them more? hee! hee!
