Contest  closed! Winner was Kim C! Congrats Kim!

We recently moved our laundry room into what used to be a very tiny bathroom. My husband installed a large pocket door to maximize the small space. The room needed a quick re-do to make the space work. A trip to Lowe’s quickly turned this small space laundry room into a useful and organized work space!

Small Space Laundry Room Ideas

To give our laundry room a fresh look we first installed a laminate counter on top of the washer and dryer to make a nice work surface. We used a counter top with a back splash to keep socks and small clothing items from falling behind the washer.

Lowe’s had plenty of closet storage ideas that we could borrow for our laundry room. We installed Rubbermaid Shelving to make the best use of the space . For years we have sorted our clothes into dish tubs. Now the tubs have the perfect home. Our clothes from the laundry shoot fall right into a large laundry basket sitting on the counter. Wet clothes can be hung over the large wash sink.

Everything now has a home and our laundry room looks organized, clean and fresh!

  1. My bathroom needs help — just barely beginning a redo but it needs lots of help — thanks for the chance!!!

  2. Was this giveaway just for me? Haha! After renovating a majority of our 1900’s homestead, we are down to the front entry. I’ll probably use it as a sewing/crafting area as well as a entryway for guests (so they don’t have to come in through the kitchen).

  3. Well, could I say what room DOESN’T need a makeover? But my laundry room is totally high on the list!

  4. I LOVE your new laundry room and that’s exactly the room in my house that needs some TLC. Our home was once a small lake cottage, so needless to say, storage is a major problem in our house. My laundry room is currently serving as our laundry space of course, but also our pantry AND my craft storage space…it’s a dreadful room, lol! I would be thrilled to win a LOWES gc to help this room! Thank you for this awesome opportunity!

  5. My sewing space could really use some organization! My biggest problem is scraps right now and I would like some wire basket type shelving to sort my scraps by color or size. Love your new laundry room! So nice with a big family.

  6. I would definatley use it towards our back porch. SInce my parents moved in and built an inlaw suite, the back porch just got a lot of abuse with all of the construction and what not. Now birds have found their way through a few of the broken screens and are now building nests. 🙂 Fun to watch, but it needs a good update. WE’d love to work on that this summer.

  7. My laundry room could also use a makeover! Maybe then I could keep the tribe of lint rabbits (they are much too fearsome to be dust bunnies) from taking over.

  8. My utility room! I never thought of putting a top across the washer and dryer. Gonna show hubby the pics!

  9. There’s a couple rooms that could use some help, but with summer coming, I’d remodel our porch!

  10. Just about everyroom in our house needs work. It would be wonderful to be able to finish our downstairs bathroom…or the laundry room…or the mater bedroom…or the kitchen. All of which have been in disorder for more than five years.
