One piece of advice you all have given me in my organization quest is to label everything. So I have started labeling. I have had these containers from IKEA forever but they were never labeled.  I had to open the lids each time I wanted to find something.

Silly I didn’t I label them before when they had a spot and even the card to do so.

Labeling is much more fun because I have one of these.

This Brother PTouch1280 is slick! The best thing is that there are so many tape options (iron on fabric tape, archival tape for scrapbooking, packing tape, etc.) that it really has more uses than just organization.

Brother is giving one lucky reader a PTouch Labeler. Leave a comment (I should make you post a photo of your craft area—wink wink!–it’s okay a comment will do) on this post before Sunday night at midnight and one of you will be the proud owner of this handy gadget!

  1. We’re moving this week and I would LOVE a label maker to help organize my new sewing room!! I’m an organizing freak. After all, I *do* have our moving boxes color coded and numbered (I wish I was kidding!)

  2. I would LOVE one… My Grandmother in law – 87 gave me an old school squeese the handle as hard as you can to make indents in the hard plastic tape… and I was so good and labled my Baby’s bins for Socks bibs hats etc… and they all poped off 🙁

  3. My labeler just broke the other day. I dropped it and it hasn’t worked since. I would love to win a new one. Thanks for the chace.

  4. oooooohhhhh, I have always wanted a label maker but have never justified the cost. It would be GREAT to win one!!! Good luck organizing!!!

  5. You will be so proud and feel so accomplished when your craft room is done! I looove to label things but I don’t have a nifty label maker 🙁 I have to do it all by hand! I am on a major cleaning/decluttering/organization bender this year! Wish me luck!

I like those little boxes you have! There is an Ikea not too far from where I live and I have never been there but maybe I should go and check them out!

Thanks for your blog I have learned some really GREAT things from you!

  6. I’ve been wanting one of these for some time. I have researched a little and have been overwhelmed. The label makers sure look like fun!

  7. seriously, i begged for one for christmas and did not get it! my husband thought i was joking! has he ever looked around our house????

  8. Ooo, Ahhh! I hope I win I really need some help with my organization. My craft area looks worse than yours!

  9. I love making labels! I have a Casio label maker, but it doesn’t have the cool tape options! The iron on tape would be soooo much better than the permanent marker I’ve been using to label winter clothes!
Thanks for the chance to win.

  10. I have a 1998 model of the P-touch. It only takes one type of tape. I had no idea that they had fabric tape!?!

I think my most ingenious label usage has to be on my refillable shampoo/conditioner dispenser. Just type a label to tell you all the important information (i.e. Johnson & Johnson Straight Hair Shampoo) and the labels come off easily so changing to a new shampoo is a cinch.
