This cornhole game tutorial will be the entertainment at your next party. Pack this wooden corn hole game easily in your truck for tailgating! Let the games begin!
How to build a corn hole game
Cut a 1″X12″X6′ board into four equal pieces.
But boards together to create a square. Place three screws equally spaced along each side.
Lay square on 3/16″ plywood. Even up two sides of the square on the edge of the plywood. Mark the other two sides and cut.
Screw plywood to top and bottom of square.
Measure 4 inches up from the bottom on one side. On the opposite side measure 4 ” down from the top. Using a circular saw with blade adjusted to just slightly over 3/4″, cut completely from one end to the other on each side.
On opposite side draw a diagonal line from each cut. Place circular saw in the middle of this line. Cut from the middle up to the edge of first cut on both sides. DO NOT CUT THROUGH TO THE END. This cut will leave a small bit of wood uncut on each edge. Use a miter, handsaw, or saber saw to saw through this small bit up to the edge of the first two cuts. Now the box is cut in two. Give the two parts a coat of paint in your favorite team colors.
Screw a 4 inch PVC cap in the bottom center of each side.
Place hasps on each side and a handle on the top to make it easy to carry.
If this is what you call a washers game, grab some washers and start tossing them. If this is a cornhole game sew up a few bags (I made mine football shape) filled will rice or corn kernels.
Don’t miss my washers game plans. It is another fun game to play at your next tailgating party.
