You will need to make this recipe

  • cream cheese
  • butter
  • Hidden Valley Ranch Salad dressing mix (Find at Amazon https://amzn.to/3Ed0P36)
  • grated parmesan cheese

For rolling logs:

  • Finely diced herbs, parsley or chives (see next section for more ideas)
  • Crushed pepper
  • Grated parmesan cheese

SUBSTITUTIONS OR ADDITIONS

This recipe has many variations based on the flavors your guests like! If your group loves the taste of garlic, you could mince and mash a couple of garlic cloves or add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder to the cream cheese spread. Don’t forget to add a dash or two of salt!

Do you grow your favorite herbs and want to use them for this herb cheese spread? Have some dried herbs you are dying to use? Go for it and try some basil, dill, oregano, tarragon or thyme to customize your dish! And don’t forget the lemon zest for a zip of bright flavor!

HOW TO MAKE Herb Butter Cheese Spread Recipe

  1. Mix room temperature cream cheese, softened butter, Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing Mix, and grated parmesan cheese together. You can use a fork, wooden spoon, silicone or rubber spatula to mix.   2. Form into two (or 3) logs, Divide herb cheese butter and place onto a piece of plastic wrap. You want it to be in one line, about 4-5 inches long and 2 inches across.

  4. Chill until solid, about one hour.
  5. Roll logs in freshly crushed pepper, fresh herbs, or grated parmesan cheese. Serving and Storage

As an appetizer, serve in a small bowl or on a board, surrounded by small toasts or crackers.

Herbed Butter Cheese Spread Recipe

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cool 1 hour

Ingredients  

  • 2 – 8 ounce pkg of cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 package Hidden Valley Ranch Salad dressing mix
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
