Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

    Looking for delicious banana chocolate chip muffins? Look no further!  I love warm muffins fresh from the oven and these are just right! If you like moist muffins that are full of flavor (and chocolate chips) you have found your recipe!  We are also huge fans of banana bread. You might like my go-to banana bread recipe(it has chocolate chips too). I make this easy banana bread when I am in a hurry.

    You will love these yummy banana muffins with chocolate chips! Loaded with banana and chocolate chips the perfect combination!

    Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins


    • 1 1/2 cups  flour
    • 2/3 cup sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas about 2 large
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1/2 cup  butter melted
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips


    1. Preheat oven to 350°F.  Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Mix mashed bananas, egg, melted butter, vanilla and milk in medium bowl. Stir banana mixture into dry ingredients just until blended, do not over-mix. Stir in chocolate chips.
    2. Divide batter among muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full. Bake muffins until tops are pale golden and tester inserted into the center comes out with some melted chocolate attached but no crumbs, about 25  minutes.

    I baked them in these cute nut cups.

    I loved how they kept their color and the muffins came out beautifully! They didn’t even need to be sprayed with cooking spray.

    These muffins freeze beautifully. So if you happen to end up with some extras just freeze for later. They make a great grab and go snack.

        I am not sure Wendy, I think there are some online programs that allow you to put in the ingredients and find the calories.

        Hey June, I think the cups are back in stock. These bake perfectly in regular baking cups too!

      I made these this morning, took the advice of another comment and added about a teaspoon of Penzy's apple pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove). They were delicious. My very picky 3 year old loved them as well! Will definitely make again!

      Did anyone have a problem with these sticking to the paper?

        I haven't had that problem, Shelby. You could always just spray your muffin pan with cooking spray and bake directly in the pan without the papers.

      Just make these. Didn't have butter, so substituted 1/2 oil instead. Still delicious!! Thanks for sharing with us!!

      I loved the little yellow portion cups, very cute! As much as I love banana muffins, I add cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger for a bit more kick...Makes them seem more special for some reason!

      This recipe is for 12 muffins, however these portion cups are slightly smaller than a regular size muffin so I was able to make 16 muffins.
