Easy Crochet Flower Clip

It only takes a few minutes and a few supplies to make a simple flower crochet clip. I used thin cotton crochet thread, a size 7 needle for the smaller flowers and a size 0/325mm for the larger, a hair clip, buttons (optional) and hot glue or needle and thread.

Crochet Flower Pattern

Chain 4, slip stitch in first stitch to make a ring. Working in ring, chain 2, dc, chain 2, slip stitch, makes one petal.  Repeat until you have 5 petals.

Hot glue or sew button to center of flower if you like. Hot glue flower to hair clip and you are done.

Snow Cone Syrup II {recipe}

It is no secret that we love snow cones around here!

This time we tried these super strength flavors for our snow cone syrup. Using these flavors opens a whole wide world of flavors. The variety is amazing!

We used our normal snow cone syrup recipe, but replaced the unsweetened drink mix with 1/2 teaspoon of super strength flavoring.

Snow Cone Syrup Recipe

In a saucepan, stir together the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, and boil for about 1 minute (no longer or it will become too thick once cooled). Remove from heat, and stir in the flavoring (add a few drops of food coloring if you like). Allow to cool and place in a recycled bottle for pouring. Pour over shaved ice to flavor.

Notes:  I did make this using 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. It was fine, but not a syrup consistency. However if you want to cut back on sugar it works.
