Snow Cone Syrup II {recipe}

    It is no secret that we love snow cones around here!

    This time we tried these super strength flavors for our snow cone syrup. Using these flavors opens a whole wide world of flavors. The variety is amazing!

    We used our normal snow cone syrup recipe, but replaced the unsweetened drink mix with 1/2 teaspoon of super strength flavoring.

    Snow Cone Syrup Recipe

    In a saucepan, stir together the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, and boil for about 1 minute (no longer or it will become too thick once cooled). Remove from heat, and stir in the flavoring (add a few drops of food coloring if you like). Allow to cool and place in a recycled bottle for pouring. Pour over shaved ice to flavor.

    Notes:  I did make this using 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. It was fine, but not a syrup consistency. However if you want to cut back on sugar it works.

      Thank you for the snow cone syrup idea. I was wondering if you had any idea as to how to keep the color to stay on top of the shaved ice. Thank you again kathy

        i have been using koolaid, koolaid brand flavors. generic koolaid flavors have a bad after taste, you need to buy brand name to get the best flavors.
