Last Minute Treat – How to make peppermint bark

If you need something really fast this is for you.  This is really the cheap way out because I used candy coating instead of white chocolate. I know that stuff is really not healthy or should even be considered edible —but it is tasty!

All you need is one package Almond bark also called vanilla candy coating (24 ounces) and about 8 ounces hard mints (that is about 40 mints, or 1 cup finely ground)

Melt the candy coating in the microwave until it is completely melted, smooth and creamy.  Stir often while melting and check package directions for more details.

Unwrap the mints (most time consuming part of this) and place in a blender.  Chop mints until they are like a fine saw dust.

Add crushed mints to the melted candy coating. Place about 2 1/2 feet of aluminum foil out on a hard surface.  Pour your candy mixture onto the foil and spread out so it is about 1/4″ and less thick.

Once the candy is hard (about 15 minutes) break it into pieces.

I put mine in some clear bags and tied with a bow for some very last minute gifts.

Hope your Holiday is sweet!
