Okay this might seem like the craziest gift, but I tell you my little girl is going to adore a stack of these baby doll diapers. Really a diaper is the only 'clothes' our babies wear, if any.
These are very easy to make, but if you want a simple pattern so you don't have to spend time figuring it out you may download the
Instructions for making a diaper for a child's doll:
Cut two pieces of fabric. I used a soft flannel, in pink of course (in my daughter's eyes there are no other colors).

Stitch the two pieces right sides together. Leave about a 2 inch opening on the straight edge along the back for turning.
Clip corners and curves. Turn the fabric right side out. Whip stitch opening closed. Sew velcro on the inside of the back flaps and on the outside of the front. I am confusing the you with the picture. Pretend it is flipped over. Actually this is easy, just lay your diaper out and fold it up and you will see where the velcro goes. It is probably a good idea to try it on your doll to get the correct velcro placement.
These only take minutes, including the time it takes to re-thread the sewing machine needle when the thread breaks sewing the velcro on (does anyone have any tips for this). My daughter aka "little mommy" will be in heaven with this gift
.
I'm off to think of some ideas for the boys!

Thanks for sharing this great tutorial and pattern! I made one for my daughter who is always wanting help using her own diapers on her dolls. Now she can do it all by herself. http://4happyhens.blogspot.com/2011/08/diaper-for-dolly.html

For what size doll did you make this? I think it would be easy enough to enlarge for bigger dolls if necessary. Thanks for sharing!

I saw this pattern a long time ago and knew that I needed to make it for my girls. Well needless to say a few years later I got around to doing it. I used minky fabric that was in my scrap bin. I only did 1 side instead of 2 sided. I even shrunk the pattern a bit for the smaller dolls. It worked for the cabbage patch so I was really happy
Thanks for a great pattern!
Thank you for these simple instructions for a fun item!
Hi Billy since the business is marked as a hotel, it won’t show up on the map, which is a bug and we’ll be fixing it as soon as we can. If you change the “type” to business it will show up on the map (as a temporary fix)
THANKS! And, no, this isn’t the craziest gift idea. I think it’s one of the best.
Thank you for the pattern! Also, a tip I have for sewing on velcro: When I know a project has velcro, I use a jean/denim needle and it seems to the job.

Thanks for the pattern! After trying them out, it was nice to see that the pattern works for both my daughter’s cabbage patch doll and her smaller dolls. I did put a strip of velcro across the whole front of the diapers though so they could adjust easier between the different sizes of dolls. Thanks again!
