Rice Krispie Valentine Treats are sure to be a crowd pleaser this Valentine’s Day!

First I sprayed my heart panĀ (affiliate link) with cooking spray. Really, no need for a special pan — a heart cookie cutter would work great!

Make the traditional rice Krispies treat mixture. You know this one:

Rice Krispies Treats

3 tablespoons butter

40 large marshmallows

6 cups Rice Krispies (puffed rice cereal)

Melt butter in a large saucepan. Stir in marshmallows and heat until melted, add in rice Krispies.

Instructions:

Wet or oil hands and press mixture into heart-shaped pan. If using a cookie cutter, spread mixture in a 9X13 pan and then cut out shapes.

Turn pan over and tap hearts out of the pan.

Insert a cookie stick into the heart. Slightly re-shape heart if needed.

Melt white chocolate or candy coating in a shallow dish. Dip top of heart in the melted chocolate.

It can also be spooned on the heart and smoothed with the back of the spoon.

Before chocolate hardens, sprinkle with decorations.

Once the coating is completely hard, cover with a clear plastic bag and tie with a ribbon.

And you have a sweet treat!

Notes:

Color the rice krispie mixture by adding food coloring when melting the butter and marshmallows.

If you don’t want to add chocolate or candy coating to the tops, try mixing heart shaped sprinkles into the rice krispie mixture.
