My biggest household challenge is getting dinner on the table now that I am working. My longtime motto has been, “use what you have.” From redoing furniture to recycling items for craft projects I try to use what I have. I realized I have something that can help me with my household challenge!
I have a teenage son!
He agreed if he had a photo tutorial he would be able to help get dinner ready. We started with a simple skillet meal.
Skillet Spaghetti and Meatballs
In a very large skillet put in:
- 1 – 28 oz diced canned tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 2 1/2 cups water
Next add
- 3 garlic cloves (peeled and pressed through the garlic press)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Bring sauce to a boil then immediately reduce heat to medium. Add in 12 ounces dried spaghetti. (break spaghetti in half if it is longer than the skillet)
Add pre-cooked frozen meatballs to the spaghetti and sauce.
Cover skillet and simmer 8-10 minutes stirring frequently to keep spaghetti from sticking to the bottom of the skillet. Remove lid and finish cooking until spaghetti is tender.
Tada! I got help getting dinner on the table and he is a bit more prepared to live on his own.
