These Scarecrow cookies are what I took for my daughter’s bake sale. Someone had made some similar ones at my son’s bake sale. I am thinking the original idea came from Family Fun Magazine. I made sugar cookies on long sticks so I could stick them into a small hay bale I found at Hobby Lobby.
I thought it was a fun way to display the cookies so they could be sold individually.
Here is the sugar cookie recipe I used.
I just found these and thought they were so cute. Did anyone ever find out what was used for the hair? I read all the comments but never did see that question answered.
Adorable!! I love them so much!!!
how could i get the recipe for the cookies (scarecrow).. i need to know what the icing is and the hair.. the cutest thing ever
These are so cute but the hay bale presentation makes them a HIT!!
I just made this recipe and YUM the best sugar cookie ever. I blogged about it here http://treasuresofjoy.blogspot.com/2008/11/one-moremmmhaloween.html
What is the hair made of? Where do you find the sticks?
Thanks so much. I just stumbled on this site and have made 3 of your crafts with my son since yesterday morning!

I love your site! It is so much fun! I put a link to it on my blog for all my friends! Thanks!
I will definitely try thee next year. What an adorable idea. You did a great job with them and the mini haystack is perfect.
SO CUTE! I love these…I am so making these for my son’s preschool class.
So I’m also interested what the hair is. And what did you use for the eyes?
Thanks so much for sharing the great idea!
How cool are these? I’m jealous that you can still do bake sales. Our schools in Oregon went to store-bought-ONLY treats YEARS ago!
Wow those are so cute. How did you get the cookie to stay on the stick? Are those the same sticks that you use to make chocolate?
What is the hair made of?
I’m sorry to bother you, but I would love to make these for my students.
You are so talented…love your site and these cookies look YUMMY!!
