How to Make Cupcake Liner Paper Flowers
These sweet paper flowers are made with cupcake liners, pencils, and a little washi tape. They come together quickly and make such a cute handmade teacher appreciation gift.
Supplies
You will need:
- Cupcake liners for the flower petals
- Green cupcake liners for the leaves
- Pencils
- Green washi tape
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun or craft glue
- Push pin
- Printable teacher appreciation tags
- Hole punch
- String or twine

Instructions
- Cover the pencils with washi tape.
Wrap green washi tape around each pencil to make the flower stems. Smooth the tape as you go so it sticks neatly around the pencil. - Prepare the cupcake liners.
For each flower, you will need 5 cupcake liners for the bloom and 1 green cupcake liner for the leaves. - Fold the cupcake liners for the petals.
Fold each flower cupcake liner in half, then in quarters, and then in eighths. - Cut the petals.
Trim the top of the folded cupcake liner into a petal shape. Unfold it to reveal the flower layer. - Make the leaf layer.
Fold the green cupcake liner in the same way, then cut one side into a leaf shape, leaving the center point connected. Unfold to create the leaves. - Stack the flower layers.
Stack the green leaf layer first, then add the 5 flower petal layers on top. Rotate each layer slightly so the petals look full. Add a small touch of glue between each layer to hold them together. - Attach the flower to the pencil.
Use a push pin to make a small hole through the center of the stacked flower. Attach the flower to the pencil through the eraser end. - Shape the bloom.
Starting in the center, gently gather and scrunch each layer with your fingers to form a full flower bloom. - Add the teacher appreciation tag.
Cut out the printable tags, punch a hole at the top, and tie one to each pencil flower with string or twine.
