I got to thinking that it might be nice to have an option for the fabric luggage tag if you didn’t want to print the name and address onto the fabric.

Cut two – 3 1/2 X 5″ piece of fabric,  two  3 1/2″ X 5″ pieces of heavy weight iron on interfacing, one piece of vinyl slightly larger than finished tag and one  2″ X 12 piece of fabric for strap.

Put together the same way as this luggage tag. Take the piece of vinyl and sew to the front of luggage tag. Cut vinyl slightly larger than finished luggage tag. Place vinyl 1/2″ down from edge with strap.  Use miniature clothes pins to keep vinyl in place. Top stitch all the way around the edge, making sure to close the opening for turning. Top stitch again the size of your business card. Trim vinyl close to outside top stitching.

  6. I love it!! great idea. I am making these for stocking stuffers. You can also use them as part of a gift as a gift tag.

  7. Yes, the vinyl is a pocket that the business card can be removed from. The vinyl is place about a 1/2 down from the strap side edge. You edge stitch all the way around the luggage tag close to the edge to close your turning opening. Sew three side (not across the top) the size of the business card to create a pocket. I hope this helps.

  8. i don’t really understand how to sew the vinil… is it like a little window in the fabric or what? is it possible to change the business card?
