My daughter is really into writing letters. She wants to write all by herself  and told me that I could just say each letter and then she would be able to write her own thank yous. Well… I worried that process might take a very LONG time so I came up with this…

I found this great font called Quicksand. It can be downloaded for free here.

I printed two thank yous on a page. On the inside she dictated what she wanted to say and I printed the cards again with the messages on the inside and then cut the cards in half and folded.

She was busy and felt so good!

  2. This is such a great idea! I had found a Web site that creates handwriting practice sheets for my son but it was frustrating to format the pages correctly. So this font is perfect, and I didn’t even think of using it for thank you notes

  3. So cute! I use fonts like Quicksand also to make books for my preschooler. I scan her pictures that she has drawn and type the words below that she dictates then print and “bind.”

  5. I love this idea! It would have been great for when my daughter was younger and wanted to write her own letters… dictating DID take forever! I’ll have to file this away for when my other two are learning! 🙂

  8. That is a GREAT Idea!!!!!! DS7 is getting better with his handwriting but this would be a great help. I will be using this for both him and his little sister. I use that font to print out things for him to practice his handwriting, but never thought to use it like this.
