Crock Pot Apple Butter {Guest Post}

Please Welcome Kim from Today’s Creative blogs, sharing a fabulous recipe!

I’m thrilled to be a guest post on Skip To My Lou and share one of our favorite fall recipes. Nothing says fall like homemade Crockpot Apple Butter! I’ve got the most delicious recipe! I have a couple of apple trees that are loaded with apples, so I am always looking for ways to use up my apples.

What is Apple Butter?

I’m learning that not everyone grew up with Apple Butter. My husband didn’t even know what it was. You may also be asking “What IS apple butter?”

It’s basically just like making applesauce, except you let it cook down longer to a thicker substance, so it’s spreadable. I use a lot of the same ingredients in my apple butter recipe as I do for applesauce. We use apple butter on pancakes, toast, and ice cream. Simple to make, delicious to eat! That’s how I like it.

We usually eat it up right away, so there’s no need to can or freeze it.

Crock Pot Apple Butter Recipe

  • Apples- enough to fill your slow cooker 3/4 up (I used about 6 medium apples)
  • 2 1/2 – 3 cups Sugar – or 1 cup honey
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 cloves (not whole)
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 to 3/4 Cup water

After peeling, coring and slicing your apples, fill your crockpot until it’s 3/4 full. Add all the rest of your ingredients and stir until well blended. Cover and cook on LOW overnight. I cooked mine for about 24 hours, taking the lid off for the last few hours to help thicken. Store in the refrigerator up to 6 weeks, or freeze for longer storage. Or give it away! crockpot apple butter recipe

Apple Butter makes the perfect hostess gift or holiday gift. I used up a few fabric scraps and applied apple butter labels. You can download your own labels by visiting Today’s Creative Blog.

Dumbbell Flat Bench Press: Lay face up on your flat bench.
You could either do an online shopping or an actual shopping in a mall.

The most popular of the four versions are the Power - Block Classic dumbbells.

What size slow cooker do you use? That will make a difference in how many apples to use .

Thanks - can't wait to try it out.

Made this today and it is awesome. I used my immersion blender to smooth it out just before it was done. Going to freeze some and then make some more this week while apples are abundant.

Wanted to make this but there is no measurement given for the ground cloves-- it just says 1/2. Could you verify the amount for me?
