Hello Skip To My Lou friends! I’m Kirstin, half of the sister team that blogs at kojodesigns and Shiny Happy Sprinkles
and I’m thrilled to be here today sharing a tutorial to make a felt gift card holder.
Even though there is a bit of debate about giving gift cards as gifts (naysayers claim gift cards are just too impersonal), I kind of love them. Probably because I love receiving gift cards. And adding one of these felt gift card holders to the mix adds a bit of handmade flair.
To make one, cut a rectangle 8″ x 4″ rectangle of felt. Fold the bottom third up and sew along both edges. Trim the top flap to match the sewn edges. Clip each bottom corner. Then trim the top flap into a triangle. Add adhesive velcro to help the gift card holder close.
And you’re done.
Your gift card just got a little more festive!
Thanks for having us, Cindy. Come on by and visit us at kojodesigns anytime, friends (a few of our favorite holiday projects? This Thanksgiving Leftover Station, these retro fabric Christmas lights, this simple advent calendar, and this wool wreath).
