Here’s what you will need.

Supplies:

Holiday Tshirt (can be new or even thrifted)

Sewing Machine

Scissors

Hand sewing needle and thread

Batting to fill the pillow

Fabric marker (optional)

Step 1. Turn your t-shirt inside out and determine how far and wide you can make your square or rectangular shaped pillow. This will depend on the graphics on the front , the neckline and sleeves. Draw out the edges of your pillow where you will sew or you can simply eye ball it!

Step 2: Stitch the outline of your pillow with your sewing machine leaving a few inches along the bottom hem UN-SEWN so you can fill the pillow. Cut the excess t-shirt away. Your pillow should look something like this at this point.

Step 3. Fill your pillow  up making sure to even out the shape and get it into all the corners. Once that is done use your needle and thread to whip stitch the bottom opening closed.

Your pillow is done!! This would be a great project for ugly christmas sweaters too! 1. My favorite gift I’ve made was a appliqued wall quilt of a heron in the reeds. Gave it to my brother and it was beautiful.
