My daughter is really into writing letters. She wants to write all by herself  and told me that I could just say each letter and then she would be able to write her own thank yous. Well… I worried that process might take a very LONG time so I came up with this…

I found this great font called Quicksand. It can be downloaded for free here.

I printed two thank yous on a page. On the inside she dictated what she wanted to say and I printed the cards again with the messages on the inside and then cut the cards in half and folded.

She was busy and felt so good!

Here is a round-up of printable thank yous from around the web.

  1. Thank you. It gave me an idea about writing to remember things. My kids are writing their cards this week. I totally love this font! Thank you!

  2. I cut out the dotted thank you’s, have them trace it, and make a collage on a folded piece of cardstock, so every card is a unique masterpiece!

  3. I did this at Christmas for my 3 year old’s thank you notes. All of them just said “Thank you” but it was a start. The only difference was that I did the dotted text for her to trace by hand, this makes it so much easier, thank you!

To use them on Windows, open up the .zip file that you downloaded go into the QuicksandFamily folder and drag the .otf files to a folder on your desktop. Then right click on the otf files and choose Install. Then they will be in Word for you to use.

  4. Wonderful idea! I linked to this on my weekly roundup – post is under my name. Thanks so much!

  5. I echo what another reader wrote: Fantastic idea! Unfortunately I’m technologically challenged and although I can download the file I am uncertain how to ‘use’ it? Do I need a particular program to be able to use it? or is there a way to import it into to my Word program? Any advice would be appreciated!

  6. This is PERFECT for us! Very timely! My 4 year old daughter enjoys writing letters to family members and sealing them in envelopes. She often writes the same words (the few she’s learned how to write thus far). This will really come in handy and she’ll be learning to write some new words. Thanks!
