Brooke’s Chocolate Triffle

Yesterday my friend, Brooke, made the most delicious triffle! It is not only stunning but so simple.

triffle7

Just a few ingredients:

1 Cake Mix

1 large box chocolate pudding (plus 2 cups milk, divided)

2 containers of  frozen whipped topping (thawed)

6 Heath candy bars, crushed

triffle1

Bake cake according to package directions, cool and cut into squares.

triffle2

Layer chocolate cake, pudding (1/2 of the box mixed with 1 cup milk, allowing to thicken slightly so it can still be poured), 1 container whipped topping, then  1/2 the crushed Heath candy bars  into a triffle bowl. Repeat with chocolate cake.

triffle3

Next mix the other 1/2  of pudding with 1 cup milk, mixing well and allowing to thicken slightly (so it can still be poured).

triffle4

Add another layer of whipped topping.

triffle51

Top with the remaining 1/2 of crushed Heath candy bars.

triffle6

Yum!

I’ve made this using a brownie mix instead of a cake mix. Even yummier!

  6. Ha! I laughed when I saw this because this past weekend my husband said he wanted this exact dessert. I told him sure as long as he made it. He did and it was sooo good. Except aroung here we call is Skor Bar Pudding. No Heath bars allowed!

  7. Janie says:

I’ve got this same recipe, with one exception! When the cake comes out of the oven, poke lots of holes in the top and pour 1/2 cup of amaretto over it. The cake soaks it up and it tastes yummy! I love your website, by the way, I’ve just never commented. I’m so proud of myself for making several crayon rolls!

Is this allowed? It looks like pure heaven and earth… Are you meant to share it? Can’t be… No this is definitely one of those eat solo type desserts… hmmmm I am wondering if I should go there… bookmark or close the window – tough call!!!

That looks SO GOOD! I started making some trifles at Christmas last year. I have a recipe for one using a gingerbread mix and vanilla pudding and it was great. They are so easy to whip up, and everyone loves them. I’m going to make this recipe for my kids when they get home from summer camp later this summer as a special “welcome home” dessert!!

    Thanks for sharing!

I saw this recipe when you first posted it. I needed to make a dessert that I hadn’t made before while visiting my family on vacation. I pulled this recipe up and with the help of my 13 year niece, we made this. My family LOVED it. My dad did suggest butterfingers next time instead of Heath bars. My nephew requested snickers. Thanks for posting. It’s a recipe I will be making over and over again!
