I added a final touch. I mixed elmer's glue and cornstarch to make "royal icing" it turned out beautiful and set quickly. The remaining icing is in a nancy bottle and is still soft enough for use. I LOVE the idea of a garland!! I looked a long time last year for the recipe we used to use, so that I could make them with my daughter, but I couldn't find it in time. This year, though - it's on! They were made with only applesauce and cinnamon, but If we make these next week I think I'm gonna add some glue because they are brittle. Walmart has an excellent collection of cookie cutters that has the letters, gonna pick them up this weekend. I have ornaments from 4th grade and i’m 30 now!
