Equipment

  • Rolling Pin
  • baking sheet
  • 2 Medium bowls
  • food processor
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2.5 cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1.5 pounds Apples
  • 1 Pastry
  • 1 stick Unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Place one cup of flour, 1.5 cups of sugar, one teaspoon of cinnamon, and one teaspoon of salt in a bowl and toss through until all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Place your already sliced apples in a bowl and sprinkle, then fold the mixture through thoroughly.
  • Place the apples on the pastry. Pile them up, but leave about a 2-inch border.
  • Make the crumble for the topping by adding the remaining flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and butter to the bowl of a food processor. Using the pulse button, blitz the ingredients until you have a crumbly mixture. Add that to the top of the apple crostata and fold the outer pastry upwards to hold all the contents as shown in the image below.
  • Now bake in the oven till the apples are cooked and your crostata is golden brown.
