Guilt Free Summer Soda Recipes
Hello everyone! Jes here from Mommy Envy and I am sharing my very favorite way to feel fancy during the summer. These guilt free summer soda recipes are my realistic alternative to kicking my feet up and eating bonbons all day.
I am a stay at home mom and I’ve enjoyed it very much. I love watching my kids discover new things. And although I love creating activities and getting down on their level to play, this picture of a perfect day of play and learning doesn’t always exist. Sometimes I can make it happen for about 15 minutes and then my toddler is on to his next mess. That really wears on you!
I’ve been pretty good at keeping my emotions and frustrations in check. I do this by taking a moment to take inventory. When was the last time either of us slept? Ate? One of these two missing for either of us is sure to cause tears and chaos.
So, while I’ve set up coloring time at the table for the toddler and Cheerios in the high chair for the baby, I set up myself with one of these fun summer drink recipes. They are so easy to make and they are sugar free! I sit at the table with the kiddos sipping on my drink and feeling fancy. This is my little break for the day. And sometimes we take 2 or 3 breaks, who is counting?
In the summer I feel like I drink way too much soda at parties. I always feel guilty after because my stomach isn’t a big fan. These guilt free summer soda recipes are light on calories and I can drink as little or as much as I want.
Here’s how they are made:
Black Cherry Grapefruit Summer Soda Recipe
- Black Cherry Sparkling Water, I buy these in the 1 liter bottles but you can find them in cans too
- 1/2 grapefruit, If I had grapefruit for breakfast I just save some of the extra juice. Or I squeeze a half of a grapefruit for as much or as little juice as I want.
Lemon Lime Summer Soda Recipe
- Lemon Lime Sparkling Water
- 1 slice of lime and 1 slice of lemon, squeeze into the soda
If you want your drinks a little on the sweeter side I add a little Stevia to my soda. These recipes might seem simple but they are so good. The Black Cherry Grapefruit is a little sweet and a little sour and the Lemon Lime is an extra kick of a classic flavor.
Now go and kick your feet up for a moment, reflect and feel fancy! The mess can be picked up later.
